RECREATIONAL PLUS
OVERVIEW
U12 & U15
- Practices will be twice a week
- 8 Game Season (potential for additional games to be added to the schedule).
- Rec+ teams travel locally for away games (Including, but not limited to, Anderson, McCordsville, Yorktown, etc.)
- Games have one center referee and two line referees.
- All teams are co-ed
- U12 and U15 play 9v9 with goalies
- Players will need cleats, soccer socks, shin guards, shorts, and Green (away) and Gray (home) PFC jerseys. U12 will need a size 4 soccer ball, and U15 will need a size 5 soccer ball.
RECREATIONAL PLUS INFORMATION
Our Rec Plus, U12-U15 soccer represents a critical transition in youth player development, moving from foundational skills to advanced understanding and full-sided games. This age group involves physical and psychological changes, including varying maturation rates and increased susceptibility to peer influence, which coaches must navigate sensitively. On the field, the game transitions to requiring a greater focus on team concepts, positional awareness, and more complex systems of play. Technical practice remains important, but players also start to develop a deeper willingness to compete through intrinsic motivation. Ultimately, maintaining a fun environment and fostering a positive player psychology is crucial to encouraging a lifelong love for the sport.
